A trained teacher and Speech Therapist, she spent over 28 years as Young People's Librarian, then Children's Community Services Officer at the Invercargill Public Library. For her services to children and the community, Dreamweaver was honoured by the New Zealand government, receiving an M.B.E. in 1987.
