I love writing and telling stories. In my occupational background in Nursing and Teaching I discovered the therapeutic and the wonderful educational possibilities of storytelling.I tell regularly to pre-school audiences, but I prefer to tell to adults. I have told stories to many primary schools in North Otago, and also worked with children who wished to learn the art. My main interest is in creating narratives to make history live. I work with Totara Historic Estate and the Victorian Heritage Trust of Oamaru. For me, one enjoyable part of writing my own material is the challenge of researching, either a historical figure with the times and the culture pertaining to them, or checking the environment in which I have set my story.
