Lesley is a children’s performer, adult teller of tales, audio performer, industrial story facilitator, literacy consultant an author of children’s books.
Storytelling is central to literature. Oral storytelling provides strategies for anyone either child or adult, to sequence, to try new words, to transfer skills to writing text. It enables children to comprehend complex text in literature and foster higher order thinking skills.
The workshop will identify the skills and techniques which listeners can use to promote imagination, extend ideas, as stories unfold delight and build relationships within different setting or personal stories. Literacy strategies using story to promote writing. It will fine tune the senses, developing various view points, providing hope as the participants relate to situations, characters, events inward and outward.

A story is given up to the listener as they enter it and they can be transferred to other worlds. They can walk through walls, fly like Pegasus or enter a room through a keyhole, especially when Lesley tells the tales.
